Meet our coaches

If you’ve ever dreamed of having championship coaches that focus on your development and facilitating an environment where your team feels like family, you’re in the right place.

  • Cara Morey

    HEAD COACH

Cara Morey is in her seventh year leading the Princeton women's hockey program in 2023-24. Since Morey was announced as head coach on June 12, 2017, the program has won its first ECAC tournament title, won an Ivy League championship, qualified for two NCAA quarterfinals, set the program single-season wins record, and established itself as a regular inclusion in the national top-10 rankings.

  • Jamie Lundmark

    DIRECTOR OF PLAYER DEVELOPMENT
    ASSISTANT COACH

Jamie Lundmark, a former NHL player whose professional hockey career spanned the better part of two decades, joined the Princeton women's hockey staff as Director of Player Development and Assistant Coach on May 31, 2023.

"Jamie has played at the highest level of men's hockey and has also coached and developed top female players ... We're so excited to have Jamie join our program at Princeton as we continue our quest for a national championship!"

  • Melissa Samoskevich

    ASSISTANT COACH

Melissa Samoskevich, an IIHF World Champion with Team USA, joined the Princeton women's hockey staff as an assistant coach in July 2023.

"We are so excited to have 'Samo' joining our coaching staff. She was a dominant player in ECAC Hockey and with the U.S. national team and will bring her coaching experience from Penn State and Quinnipiac to help our team. Samo is a future star in NCAA coaching and we're thrilled she's coming to the Tigers!"

our coaching philosophy

Playing hockey at Princeton is about having coaches that encourage your development. Our role as coaches is to guide you during your most transformative years. We believe in the impact of positive mentorship – our goal is to have our student-athletes graduate in four years and get them ready for their next chapter in life.

We care about the whole student-athlete, inside out. Academic meetings, study hall, and providing our athletes with the tools and resources to manage their mental health. It’s the top priority of our staff.
